What is generative AI?
🤖 AI chat assistants, writing helpers and image makers are now built into phones, email and office tools. You can use them well if you understand what they are.
Generative AI is software that creates new content — text, images, audio — when you ask it to.
A text AI is trained on a huge amount of writing. From that it learns patterns: which words tend to follow which, and how answers are usually shaped.
When you ask a question, it produces an answer by predicting, piece by piece, what text is likely to come next.
That is why it writes so fluently. It is also why it can be wrong.
